High Interest Day is one of the most exciting events at Jefferson. And it’s a blast to plan.

This committee will need to coordinate with local businesses and talent to provide students with options throughout the day to participate in various activities and/or demonstrations.

The Auction is held once a year and has been a great event for an adult evening out.

The Auction committee is responsible for securing various donations from families and other local community businesses and vendors for Jefferson Parents to bid on.

This committee will be organizing the back to school events. And will be working on building community in the school.

The Variety Show is held in the spring. The committee members coordinate students and their talents.

There will need to be a sign-up and multiple practice times coordinated for the kids that will be performing.

This is a time commitment but it is an event that is loved by all the kids that participate.

Each year Jefferson hosts a Scholastic Book Fair that typically happens around parent teacher conferences. During that time volunteers are needed to staff the in-person book fair.

This is a team of parents dedicated to building community through discussions on race and culture. They strive to recognize our diverse student body and provide opportunities to embrace culture throughout the school year.

This committee organizes getting donations for general use snacks, winter hats, gloves and various clothing items that are needed throughout the year.

This committee is responsible for seeking out individuals to fulfill officer roles. You will need to review the Jefferson Parent and Student Association bylaws for a general understanding of annual election guidelines.

We have never done a Fun Run so this would be a NEW POSITION and COMMITTEE.

We have discussed doing it around the school grounds, however, if you are interested you could take your idea and RUN with it!

Chair: Kristine Kittleson

This position is in charge of organizing a room parent for each teacher. They help the room parent with the things they will need to think about to help the teacher throughout the year. Kristine has done a great job getting everyone organized with a plan.

There are (3) various fundraisers that Jefferson will put on throughout the year. The Hospitality & Fundraising Committee is in charge of this.

As a member you will help to coordinate all the fundraising events (except the Auction).

Amy has been working hard on some amazing NEW ideas but needs help to make things happen.

This is an event that happens in the Fall (end of September or early October).

We partner with Meadowbrook Church to have a bounce house, games, pumpkin painting, a hay slide and other fun fall activities.

We are working to put our school directory back into paper form. We are hoping to make it easier to find parents and classmates.

An easy and fun committee to be a part of. One would help publicize the Walk and Bike to School days and work as a liaison to the district for any concerns from parents.

Community Day is held one school day per year and involves students, staff and volunteers working on community service projects for local organizations. The organizer(s) will work with administration and staff to select a date and schedule for the day of the event. They will also work with teachers to get student input on projects.

This committee organizes teacher appreciation week which includes a lunch for the teachers, door decorating and spirit week. The committee also stocks the teachers lounge throughout the year with goodies for staff to enjoy.

This committee helps to keep the outside of Jefferson in tip top shape. August and team have been working hard on a plan to improve our outdoor space. And also get together in the Fall to clean up and rake leaves.
